Onitsuka Tiger redefines athletic wear with its Spring/Summer 2023 collection
Onitsuka Tiger’s Spring Summer 2023 collection, helmed by Creative Director Andrea Pompilio, marks the brand’s impressive fourth showing at Milan Fashion Week.
The theme of this collection is Japanese minimalism. The collection expresses the pinnacle of beauty through a subtractive aesthetic that strips away what is not necessary.
Through a complex construction of metropolitan appeal and unexpected fabrications, Pompilio takes the audience on an unexpected journey of ready-to-wear sports callback selects.

The body shape is the focus of the creative development and is redesigned with constructions borrowed from Japanese culture.
Interchangeable pieces breathe new life into reimagining the dimension of fashion. Drawstrings create desirable silhouettes, dresses can be deconstructed, and jackets are meant to be paired with capes. Pompilio further explores this theory of depth with the use of three-dimensional pops, such as pockets featured on the backs of designs.
Shoes and accessories are also impactful. The iconic SERRANO™ shoes have boldly printed graphic motifs reminiscent of tiger scratches and renewed as the TIRRACK™ model.
Custom headphones by Bang & Olufsen, founded in 1925 in Denmark, flank the runway and add an extra touch of cool to an already vibrant showing.
The finale showcased a performance by musician Kyle. VIPs rubbed elbows at the after party with music provided by special performances from DJs Mia Moretti and Chloé Caillet.
