Louis Vuitton Fall/Winter 2022: An Impactful Legacy Lives On

For the Louis Vuitton Fall/Winter 2022 debut, the House sees the untimely final collection of revolutionary and much-beloved Men’s Artistic Director Virgil Abloh. Devastatingly, Abloh passed away in 2021, much to the shock of many friends and legions of fans worldwide. In this final installment of an octology, Collection 8: In The Grand Scheme of Things is a swan song to the roots Abloh grew up in and influences from today’s society and pop culture mixed with the hope of neutrality and grace when it comes to gender and clothing.

Virgil Abloh defines the Boyhood Ideology® as the unspoiled outlook of a child, who is yet to be affected by the preconceived ideas of society. He wants to reset our preordained perceptions and start from scratch where clothes are clothes and humans are humans.

Saturated suiting, standout glittery sets, whimsical florals, and unexpected splashes of netting and even tulle emerge from the 68 look offerings. Longtime admirers won’t be disappointed with the expansive layered looks and throwback varsity jackets and streetwear selections—all of which feel appropriate to the current landscape.

The show had plenty of celebrities in attendance, including Amina, Dimitris Kad, Evan Mock, Deon, Lukas Sabbat, Mos Def, Naomi Campbell, Natalia Vodianova, Tyler the Creator, Venus Williams, and Victor Cruz.
