Louis Vuitton Cruise 2023 Sails Into San Diego
Louis Vuitton’s Cruise 2023 collection was the talk of the town—the locale being a surprise to audiences and taking place in Southern California. Based for the very first time ever in San Diego, CA, the show saw a slew of friends and amabassadors of the House in addition to some of Hollywood’s biggest stylists to the stars, including Wayman and Micah, Erica Cloud, and Petra Flannery.
The show itself played with concepts of architecture, prisms and sun light based off the work of “Archutect Louis Kahn puts the sun, the creator of natural life, at the heart of the Salk Institute, a brutalist from 1965 designed as a serene concrete monastery for enlightened souls. At a specific time of the day, during a blazing sunset, the sun is perfectly framed by building.”

High, structured shoulders reminiscent of Viktor and Rolf riddled the runway, with texture playing a big part in varying the many layers of each ready-to-wear look. Scarves piled atop models mimicked the statuesque architecture of the venue. Amongst a mainly grey scale and neutral color palette, pops of cobalt blue and bright orange provided fun and unexpected bursts of vibrance.
The soundtrack to the daring presentation was backed by the sounds of Sparks, with hair courtesy of Duffy and makeup by Pat MacGrath.
Celebs in attendance included Chloe Grace Moretz, Maude and Iris Apatow, Leslie Mann, Ana De Armas, Emma Roberts, Gemma Chan, Lea Seydoux, Samara Weaving, and many more familiar faces.
