Gucci Reaches for the Stars
Gucci creative director Alessandro Michele approached this dream-like collection with a whimsical air—no one piece taken too seriously, nor overly formal—there’s a breezy accessibility that fans of the brand will quickly latch on to. In the otherworldly press release, Michele reminisces about youthful tales and the ancient meaning of the galaxy.
“The constellation for Benjamin is a sudden apparition, full of tensions. It is what comes out of the capacity to draw conjunctions between fragments of worlds which would be otherwise dispersed: a feverish dust of quotations that burns in the possibility of contact.”
A stunning 101 looks were shown in Puglia at the famed Castel del Monte. Faux fur coats, scattered embellishments (reminiscent of constellations), high-shine sequins coupled with wide-legged trousers, and an admittedly 70’s flare riddled the runway.
Friends and various ambassadors of the house attended the show, including the likes of Dakota Johnson, Elle Fanning, Maneskin, Bryan Boy, Anna Dello Russo and more.
