Gucci Ancora Makes a Huge Splash in Milan
Gucci Ancora, Sabato De Sarno’s first collection for Gucci was unveiled on September 22nd in Milan to massive rave reviews. Classic Gucci elements were aplenty whilst fun barely-there tops and cutesy allover embellished mini frocks (with embroidery from the 50’s archival) peppered the gutsy runway offerings.
Within the stunning collection there are key themes, one being the Rosso Ancora, which is most notably inspired by the walls of the staff elevator of London’s Savoy hotel in where Guccio Gucci worked previously as a porter.
It’s a story of joy of life, of passion, of humanity, of people, of real life, of irreverent glamour, of provocation, of confidence, of simplicity, of immediate feelings and emotions, of a specific type of art, of words – words in artworks, words in pictures, words in spaces, just words.
The exciting collection boasted handcrafted oxblood leather skirts, trenches, tops and more with each titillating piece sparking more and more elation to the masses.
It’s a story of music and nights out, of sweat, dancing, and singing. It’s a story of family, of kissing, lots and lots of kisses. It’s a story of everything, again, but this time expressed through joy.
The front row was an absolute show-stopping event in and of itself with attendees including industry heavyweights such as Anna Wintour, Julia Roberts, Bad Bunny, Troye Sivan, Hanni, Emma Roberts, Ryan Gosling, Jodie Turner-Smith, Halle Bailey, Julia Garner, Hanni, DDG, Gemma Ward, Jessica Chastain and more.
