Far and Away with Bottega Veneta’s Summer 2024 Collection
Bottega Veneta juxtaposed nature and ready-made materials in a successful bid to invoke sweeping motion. Even when it comes to a plain white tee, the neckline is adorned and structured, whilst the draping haphazardly falls just-so, taking on a life force of its own and becoming a show-stopping piece.
The journey of Bottega Veneta continues with creative director Matthieu Blazy, and here the collection travels literally and metaphorically. Encompassing an array of influences from all over the world, both manmade and natural, there is a global sweep to craft in motion this season.
Pulling heavily from exotic locales, the pieces are constructed in a way in which they can be interwoven into ones wardrobe time and again and presented in new ways. With just a little strategic layering, most pieces easily transition to fall and cooler temperatures.
“There is a need to reconnect to a primal world of animals, minerals, and plants. It’s like collecting seashells – beautiful, meaningful or meaningless. It’s linked to the beauty of small marvels and natural wonders. It’s embracing something freeform: these are clothes without codes.” Matthieu Blazy
Celebrities in attendance at the show included Erykha Badu, Julianne Moore, Yara Shahidi, Meghann Fahy, Will Sharpe, Shu Qi and more.
