CHANEL Cruise 2022/23 takes over Monte Carlo
The masterminds of CHANEL’s new Cruise 2022/23 collection preview are famed filmmakers Sofia and Roman Coppola. Lyna Khoudri, brand ambassador, is accompanied by models HyunJi Shin, Mariam de Vinselle, and Vivienne Rohner. Photographer Melodie McDaniel was commissioned to capture images of the jumpsuit and driver-inspired collection.

As far as the runway show goes, audiences will see CHANEL take a departure from frothy gowns and minidresses in favor of more pants, rompers, and masculine silhouettes. Standout moments include a fire engine red tweed set, Look 1 in the series, and an allover sequin black jumpsuit reminiscent of 70’s disco fever. Virginie Viard approaches this collection with a laissez-faire air to capture the leisure, accessibility of the brand even to those individuals that may not have deep pockets. A baseball cap here, a sporty tee there—plenty of ready-to-wear options will undoubtedly satisfy an array of shoppers.
Show-goers found themselves plopped in theme-appropriate lawn chairs alongside a Monte-Carlo backdrop, with stars like longtime House ambassador Kristen Stewart sitting in the front row to watch the Monaco-inspired presentation.
