Louis Vuitton Partners with Musée d’Orsay for Women’s Fall-Winter 2022 Collection
Nicolas Ghesquière outdoes himself with a stunning feat of playfulness and structured patterns that come across as fresh and accessible for the Louis Vuitton Women’s Fall–Winter 2022 ready-to-wear collection. Dresses dominated the collection with a new exaggerated hip silhouette that’s sure to be seen in many upcoming editorials.
There’s a grungy slouchiness to each piece that showcases Ghesquière’s collection as a youthful vision, with a desire to discover and develop individuality. Consider your teenage years, when nothing worn was ever wrong, when magazine pages were cut out, the obsession of collages, and posters plastered all over the walls.
Prior audiences would have seen highly whimsical frocks and offerings, however, there’s still creativity abound, it’s reigned in and presented in a way that audiences will be able to reach in and incorporate an early existence into their day-to-day. The throwback to the 90’s is evident in the use of layering, sweaters around the waist, oversize rugby jumpers and other effortless styling effects.
This show marks the first time the house has paired with the Musée d’Orsay in Paris. In addition to the new backdrop of the once scheduled-to-be-demolished historical structure, the brand will also have a long-term partnership with the Musée to promote French culture while also honoring modern and historical art and architecture.
