Futuristic Glamour for Dior’s Autumn/Winter 2022-23 Ready-to-Wear Show
Dior presented their Autumn/Winter 2022 collection to much fanfare as trends such as corsets were shown in various states, impeccable waist cinching on both dresses and coats, and strong yet elegant silhouettes.
This “framework” of the fashion show breathes life into Maria Grazia Chiuri’s concepts; notably (re)constructing a performative relationship between the body and the garment in a technical, aesthetic perspective, in a succession of operations associating forms, savoir-faire, materials and futuristic technologies.
There are a few wild cards in the form of a leather jumpsuit, denim ultra-high waist pants and the new Bar Jacket. The intricate bag that weaves itself into a shell-like contraption has been developed via D-Air lab laboratories, comes in several colorways, and holds a constant temperature.

A futuristic quality tinges each piece, especially the aforementioned corsets, which are paired with everything from dress shirts to coats to layered over ethereal eveningwear.
This collection seeks to express the complexity of fashion that revisits heritage in order to conceive the lines of tomorrow.

Celebs in attendance at the event included singer Rihanna, whose pregnancy fashion is turning heads worldwide, actress Anya Taylor-Joy, actress (and face of Dior Beauty) Yara Shahidi, Ashley Park of Emily In Paris fame, Olivia Palermo, Chiara Ferragni, and many more.
