Vibrant Reimagined Streetwear for Dior Menswear Fall 2022

“But you can go on thinking and imagining forever further and stop at no decisions to pick up a bag for the thinkings. Turn your thinking into your work, your thoughts a book, in sieges.”Jack Kerouac, On The Road*, 1957

Dior Artistic Director Kim Jones was inspired by the author Jack Kerouac’s second novel On The Road (an endeavor which incredibly only took three weeks to write). Filled with punchy streetwear basics, the collection includes luxe velvet fabrications for bombers and pants alike, plaid and reimagined houndstooth patterns, graphic tees and layered sweater vest ensembles. Additionally the accessories are a scene stealer with beanies, sunglasses, fanny packs and more sprinkled throughout the runway show.

From counterculture to couture, this collection merges the atelier and the road, fusing the finesse of a Parisian couture maison with the modern, casual ease of mid-American sportswear.

This particular presentation marks the brands first time showing in London. The set was designed to bring forth influence from Jones’ library of rare first editions and documents. The fabled text of ‘On The Road’ is reimagined as the runway on an epic 120-foot scroll.
