Minimalist pumped up basics gave structure to the Salvatore Ferragamo Autumn Winter 2021 runway with tailored shirting, mohair knits and accessories presented in chrome. Function and form prevail as seen through the craftsmanship of selects such as utility parkas, capes and coats. Templates and inspiration came from motorcycles, athletics, scuba and more.

For this ‘Future Positive’ collection I imagined the standard contours of today’s uniforms as fossilised remnants of a long-forgotten past, freed of all associations of class, colour or creed.”— Paul Andrew, Creative Director of Salvatore Ferragamo

Sustainability is a major component in this collection, and leathers are tanned without use of chrome (or other metals) and cashmere and wool are sourced from post-consumer recycled fibers. Vegetable tanning also goes through a certified process.

The footwear and leather goods are made certified PET with 100% recycled post-consumer materials. This avoids the unnecessary use of new/virgin materials. This is quite the fete given the vibrance of color ways exhibited. Lime green, lavender, neon orange and vivid blues are just some of the shades available in leather or wool selects.

The Utopian-like quality exists throughout the collection which showcases the importance of diversity, coming together and making the world a better place to live in.
