An Exploration of the Silhouette for Valentino’s Haute Couture Show
Valentino presented their Haute Couture show, ’Valentino Anatomy of Couture’, with a grand exploration of the shape, form, and nature of the human body. Held at the maison’s Place Vendôme salons, models cascaded down a winding staircase, showing off everything from playful barely-there frilly separates and dresses to full-scale couture gowns.
Pierpaolo Piccioli builds the collection as a composite harmony of physical types and the clothes that dress them, studied through a long process, both scientific and poetic.

Backed by music from Anohni, models traipsed down the runway showing off a collection that celebrates and experiments with different silhouettes and sizes. Expect plunging necklines, unexpected cutouts, high shine and micro minidresses alongside the house’s backbone of impeccably tailored suiting and billowy, cascading evening wear.
This strategy will prove genius in that the consumer range is instantly widened when inclusivity is taken to heart. This is an exciting time for the house and audiences as they explore and push the envelope of what couture means in the modern world.
