Burberry’s Self-Proclaimed ‘Love Letter to Women’ for AW21
For Burberry AW21 Womenswear collection, Burberry Chief Creative Officer Riccardo Tisci wanted to celebrate strength in females. The show boasts gender-fluid selects embodying familiar modern imagery without losing the core sensibility expected of Burberry. The aforementioned is sure to draw in a new audience for the brand without entirely alienating their devoted clientele.
“I wanted this collection to feel truly emblematic of the power of feminine energy: a modern armour that captures its characteristic fierce aura. There’s an underlying attitude to the collection that’s very British; of being unique, eccentric and totally authentic in how you express yourself. This presentation is a love letter to women and a celebration of their incomparable strength.”— Riccardo Tisci, Burberry Chief Creative Officer
The runway featured metallic armor-like trench coats and streamlined wool and fur coats. Each look was accessorized with corresponding bold moments, such as sunglasses, hats, and jewelry.
