Continuing the trend of fashion shows while the globe continues to navigate the epidemic, Creative Director Demna Gvasalia, who prefers to be known to as Demna, debuts Balenciaga’s Fall 2022 collection in the form of a short film modeling the 90’s fashion scene directed by Harmony Korine.
Raver and post-grunge silhouettes are pushed to their limits. Proportions are played with, creating new silhouettes and evolving others, including Balenciaga signatures like the Basque waist jacket and the track suit.
In a continued effort to stay green, the brand boasts 89.6% sustainability fabrications and upcycled leathers and accessories. This comes on the heels of the fashion industry continuing to hold themselves accountable for the way in which fashions are made and their long-term effects on the planet.
Models included in the video montage include Naomi Campbell, Cathy Horyn, Diane Pernet, Esther Canandas, Isabelle Huppert, Renata Litvinova and Susanne Bartsch.
