Gucci’s Got a Brand New Bag
After the abrupt departure of former creative director Alessandro Michele, all eyes were on Gucci for their latest FW 2023 show. Freedom, vivaciousness and overall self expression were a prominent theme in the collection. In an exuberant conversation between past and future, the collection reflects on Gucci as a cultural constant and reinvigorates the influence of the visionaries that fronted it, paving a new way for a new dimension to its heritage.
Punches of lively color exploded in the way of clingy evening dresses, while the collection teased a juxtaposition of barely-there shiny little offerings against oversize, super slouchy jean, tailored shirts and unisex blazers.

It’s what audiences have come to know and love about the brand presented in a rocker, almost grungy high-end feel. The new life coming alive right before our very eyes rings true to current generational shifts and the fluid future of fashion.
Lastly, the iconic trapezoid chain bag and Jackie bag get facelifts in the way of new horsebit appliqués, crystals and contrast leather. The latter gets deconstructed by way of a softening of the silhouette and will be available to consumers in two-tone colours and GG-embossed leather.
VIP’s in attendance included the likes of; Julia Garner, A$AP Rocky, Global Brand Ambassador Hanni, Salma Hayek Pinault, Global Brand Ambassador Xiao Zhan, Benedetta Porcaroli, Florence Welch, Halle Bailey, Global Brad Ambassador Chris Lee and Måneskin.
